Australian entrepreneur Matt Tomlins is one of the founders of CoverCard, a startup that makes it easier for people in the construction and trade industry to apply for jobs and get work. Having worked with Matt previously, we knew he would be the right fit to mentor emerging entrepreneurs who come through Hatch Quarter.

Matt worked with Hatch Quarter in 2016 to write the materials for the ideation workshop in our program and ran some of these sessions for us personally. It was all going great until business took Matt to QLD, but he hasn’t ruled out these running sessions for us again.

Matt’s travelled the country building his expertise. His perseverance and warm attitude towards others in the startup community, wherever he is, is part of his charm and what allows him to form immediately positive connections with new people.

CoverCard is currently based in Queensland where Matt has received strong support as an inaugural recipient of the Advance Queensland Hot DesQ program. Despite his success, Matt is approachable and down to earth. He’s never lost sight of the immense responsibility and risk you take on when you choose to pursue a career as an entrepreneur.

The ecosystem we nurture at Hatch Quarter is really aimed at connecting people who will remain assets to each other’s businesses for years to come. We’ve witnessed this first hand with Matt.
